2010 SIAC Football Preseason Picks and Predicitions

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced the Preseason All-SIAC Football Teams and predicted order of finish as selected by the SIAC Football Coaches Association.

The 2010 preseason team features 21 returning players from the 2009 All-SIAC team led by Clark Atlanta running back Winston Thompson and Benedict quarterback Pat Riley. Continue reading

2010 MEAC Football Preseason Picks and Predictions

South Carolina State’s Malcolm Long and Julio Sanchez of Hampton earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s (MEAC) top football preseason awards, as announced by the conference on Friday afternoon at the Norfolk Marriott Hotel.  Long was selected as the preseason Offensive Player of the Year and Sanchez was named the preseason Defensive Player of the Year by the MEAC head football coaches and sports information directors. 6 SWAC Stars on Preseason All-American 1st Team

Twenty players from the SWAC earned spots on the Consensus Draft Services preseason All-American teams.

Six SWAC stars – including 2009 defensive player of the year Christian Anthony of Grambling State – earned 1st team honors. Jackson State defensive back Anthony Johnson led three SWAC players on the second team, and Prairie View’s running back Donald Babers was among 11 conference representatives named honorable mention.
