Kraft Foods & The Neelys huddle up to fight hunger

Kraft Foods kicked-off a three-city HBCU Football Classic sponsorship at the 21st Southern Heritage Classic in support of its largest branded initiative ever to fight hunger in America, Huddle to Fight Hunger.

As part of the sponsorship, Kraft Foods hosted a special Huddle to Fight Hunger tailgate featuring interactive activities, music, as well as ticket and Kraft Foods Snack Pack giveaways. Kraft Foods also is sponsoring the Howard University Homecoming game in Washington, D.C. and the Morehouse Homecoming game in Atlanta.

Chefs Pat and Gina Neely have joined the huddle aimed at attacking hunger. The couple hosted a meet and greet from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  at the Southern Heritage Classic and joined in some of the pre-game activities. The game was held at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Hunger remains a serious issue in the United States. In fact, 49.1 million Americans, or one in six of Americans, don’t always know where their next meal will come from. Huddle to Fight Hunger is designed to achieve one significant goal: give 20 million meals or more to Feeding America, the nation’s leading hunger relief organization.

HBCU fans can join the huddle as well by helping Kraft Foods meet its goal by texting the word “HBCU” and their zip code to 71717. For each text, Kraft Foods will donate one meal to Feeding America on behalf of their local food bank. Classic fans also can visit www.huddletofighthunger.com to generate additional meals.
